Biliana Stoytcheva-Horissian
(Chair)- Biliana
Stoytcheva-Horissian (Dr. B.) - has an MFA from one of the most
renowned theatre schools in Europe, The National Academy for Theatre
and Film Arts in Bulgaria, where she received an extensive training
in Stanislavski, Chekhov and Lecoq techniques. After graduation she pursued an
acting career with Atelier 313 Company an experimental theatre
company found after the fall of the “iron curtain.” In 1990, Dr. B.
became a member of the Magic Voices Company and performed at
numerous venues in Europe, North America, and Africa. Some of her
other acting credits include Blood Wedding, The School for Wives,
Period of Adjustment, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
As a director,
Dr. B. has staged Kipling Tales, School for Wives, Uncle Vanya,
You
Can’t Take it with You, Tartuffe, Servant of Two Masters,
Company,
Rumors, I love You You Are perfect Now Change, The
Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged), and served
as a musical director for the U.S. premiere of At Last. She is a
co-founder of the Paradocs Ensemble Theatre where she played the
roles of Joan in The Guys and Lisa Morrison
in Collected Stories.
Directing portfolio
Dr B.
earned her Ph.D. in Actor training at the University of Oregon. She has been a member of the Emory & Henry theatre department since
2002. Dr. B is an associate professor of theatre and teaches acting, movement,
and theatre and culture. She is also the acting coach for the Irene
Ryan nominees for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre
Festival (E&H acting majors were among the top 16 in the U.S. in
2008 and the top 16 in the Southeast in 2009). Her research and artistic
interests include Comedy, Moliere, Acting Pedagogy, and Eastern
European Absurdism. She has presented numerous workshops and papers at national
and international conferences. She has also conducted master classes at the
National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Bulgaria. |

Kelly
Bremner
-
Kelly J. G. Bremner
holds advanced degrees in both music and theatre, including a Ph.D.
in Theatre from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where her
dissertation focused on multidisciplinary spaces between music,
theatre, and dance, particularly the phenomenon of Total Theatre. In
addition to being a professor, she is a freelance director and
performer, particularly in opera and devised performance. Her
performance training includes both traditional and experimental
theatre techniques. Recent directorial credits include Labute’s The
Shape of Things at Albion College, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel
in Edgerton, WI, Sophocles’s Electra for Pauline Oliveros’s Deep
Listening Space in New York and the world premiere of Scott Gendel’s
Iphigenia at Aulis in Madison, WI. She has worked as an Assistant
Director at Opera North in New Hampshire and she regularly assists
for the Madison Opera as well. Recent devising credits include being
a member of Richard Gough’s devising team for his performance of The
Last Supper with the Arts Institute in Madison, The Fruit of All
Evil for the University Theatre’s Open Stage program, and Greek to
Me: A Choral Extravaganza of Mythic Proportions for the Madison
Youth Choirs, where she staged close to 300 children in a devised
performance. In 2010, after five years of work, her latest devised
project came to fruition in the form of Nick Lantz’s Across A
Distance, a world premiere play for Deaf actor and operatic soprano. |

Kim Fore
- Kim Fore graduated with a B.A. degree in Dance from Radford
University. She is a founder and owner of Xtreme Dance Company with
studios in Abingdon and Chilhowie. Kim has also performed and taught
in California with R & B Dance Company, Disney World, Broadway Dance
Center, and Knotts Berry Farm. At E&H, she teaches Contemporary
Dance I and Contemporary Dance II. |

Christianne
Knauer Roll - Prof. Roll holds an
M.A. degree from Teachers College, Columbia University and a B.F.A.
degree from the CAP21 musical theatre studio at New York University.
She has taught on the faculty of Columbia University as an applied
voice teacher and as the music director for the production shows of
Norwegian Cruise Lines. She has soloed at Avery Fisher Hall,
Carnegie Hall, and has sung the national anthem for the Philadelphia
Eagles. Recent performance credits include productions at the
Goodspeed Opera House, the Lucille Lortel Theatre, and the York
Theater. She was a finalist in the BBC’s international vocal
competition, “Voice of Musical Theater,” in Cardiff, Wales.

Daniel L.
Wheeler
- Professor Dan Wheeler holds a M.A. degree in
Theatre from the University of Wisconsin - Superior and an M.F.A.
degree in Theatrical Design from the University of Southern
California in Los Angeles. His thesis and area of concentration was
on Design Semantics and Scenography. Professor Wheeler has taught at
Lon Morris College, a private Methodist College in East Texas,
Fresno City College and Long Beach City College for the past 24
years and has designed over 350 theatrical productions for both
educational and professional theatre venues. As a freelance Designer
and Scenic Artist, Professor Wheeler has designed numerous
productions in the LA/ Hollywood area; for the Strasberg Institute -
Leipzig with Mimi Kennedy and The Lesson with Hal Linden, the LA
Theatre Center - Canned Goods, The Coast Theatre & The Chicago
Theatre Center - Bark, The Musical, Dialects of the Heart with
Sharon Lawrence for the Edgemar Theatre, Long Beach Playhouse, Long
Beach Shakespeare Company and the International City Theatre in Long
Beach, CA. As a professional Scenic Artist he has painted numerous
theatrical productions and painted commercially for Disney, Benise'
for HBO, Neil Diamond, Hoobastank, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young,
Lexus, Infinity and Mattel. Professor Wheeler's most recent design
credits were for Psycho Beach Party at Long Beach City College, No
Sex Please, We're British at the Long Beach Playhouse and an
original work for Long Beach Shakespeare Company entitled The
Conjucated Beliefs of Usallica written and directed by Denis
McCourt. |
