The Theatre Department at Emory & Henry College
Currently, historic Byars Hall houses theatre classrooms, faculty offices, a green room, and work spaces for costume and prop construction. Performances and classes are held on the three-quarter thrust stage of The Studio Theatre which opened doors in 2002 and the larger proscenium stage of Wiley Auditorium. A scenic construction shop is located in a separate building near Byars Hall and The Studio Theatre.

The $7 million renovation of Byars Hall was completed  2008. The project included a major three-story addition to the facility. The addition plus renovations to the historic portion of the building made room for choir and ensemble rehearsal halls, a digital art lab, two large art studios, additional practice rooms for instrumental music, a large piano lab, a dark room, a theatre support room, and numerous seminar and class rooms. The college has also started and fundraising campaign for the new E&H Center for the Arts, which is expected to cost approximately $12 million. For more information visit the campaign web site.
