E&H College

Barter Theatre

Study Abroad

The Theatre Department at Emory & Henry College
Currently, historic Byars Hall houses theatre classrooms, faculty offices, a green room, and work spaces for costume and prop construction. Performances and classes are held on the three-quarter thrust stage of The Studio Theatre which opened doors in 2002 and the larger proscenium stage of Wiley Auditorium. A scenic construction shop is located in a separate building near Byars Hall and The Studio Theatre.

The College is renovating Byars Hall, which serves as the college fine arts center and houses the art, music and theatre departments. The renovations includes removal of the back portion of the building and replacing it with a new addition that would complement the construction of separate performance space in the near future. The college has also started and fundraising campaign for the new E&H Center for the Arts, which is expected to cost approximately $12 million. For more information visit the campaign web site.
