Barter Theatre

Zach Arnold
is in his senior year as an Acting major at E&H. He spent the summer
at Johnny Appleseed Outdoor Drama. While primarily a spotlight
operator, Zach also helped out maintaining the theatre’s seats and
facilities in general and performing Ohio folk songs before the
actual show began. Zach was so dedicated to his job, which he got
through the Outdoor Drama Auditions in Chapel Hill, NC, that he
missed the first week and a half of classes at Emory to stay at the
theatre and help with the strike of the show. |

Melvin Dillon
spent his second summer as a member of the Player Company at the
historic Barter Theatre, the State Theatre of Virginia. In two
summers he has played a plethora of roles, including Phil, in
Jack and the Beanstalk, Howie Kemp, in Ramona Quimby,
Iron, in The Pied Piper of Hamlin, and the title role in
Honk! A Musical Tale of the Ugly Duckling with the players.
Melvin also saw the mainstage in his time at Barter going on as
Charmoule in Hunchback of Notre Dame and the Prince of Wales
and Jessup in The Scarlet Pimpernel. Melvin was also a member
of the 2005 Barter Improv Troupe, performed on the annual Midnight
Cabaret as well as several Tom Celli Cabaret nights, and directed
the premiere of his original play Management (Working Title).
Currently, he is understudying the Fall 2005 season. |

Morgan Gengo,
spent her summer playing the role of Sophie in the Johnny Appleseed
Outdoor Drama in Mifflin, Ohio. While there she received her
recognition as an actor combatant with the Society of American fight
Directors and Choreographers (SAFD). She is now trained in rapier
and dagger, quarterstaff, and unarmed combat. Morgan will finish her
degree in the Spring, but is currently taking a semester off. She is
doing a short tour of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with the
theatre at Lime Kiln in Lexington, VA. The tour performs at various
schools, the theatre itself, and other locations around Lexington. |

| Meghan Kelleher
returned to the Mill Mountain Theatre in her hometown of Roanoke, VA
where she has done numerous shows in the past. This summer she was
an acting intern, as well as theatre instructor in the theatre’s
education program which encompasses children ages 7-18. Her onstage
credit was Vibrata in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the
Forum. Meghan was also extremely busy understudying, including
Phillia and Domina in Forum and Patty, Jan, Marty, and Cha
Cha in Grease. |

| Kate Morton
has also spent two summers at the Barter Theatre. While last summer
she served as a Stage Management intern working on 5 productions,
this summer she was honored to be an actor in the Barter Player
Company, as well as serve as the Assistant Stage Manager.
Performance credits included: Silver, in The Pied Piper of Hamlin,
Betty Anne in the staged reading of Little Sorrows¸ member of
the 2005 Barter Improv Troupe, Annie in the Cell Block Tango in the
Midnight Cabaret, and soloist on the Tom Celli Potluck Cabaret
Night. Technical responsibilities included: stagehand for Gigi,
spot op for Singin in the Rain, ASM for Ramona Quimby,
and wardrobe supervisor for the Player show, The Emporer’s New
Clothes. |

Devan Stevens
is a Senior Directing Major at E&H. For the past two summers, he
has done work with the Outdoor Drama Unto These Hills,
located in Cherokee, NC. While there he has worked as a dancer,
actor/technician, assistant stage manager, and was honored to direct
his own production of Peter Coy’s This Is Our House. |

| Cody Murphy is a Junior Musical Theatre major
from Etowah, TN. He spent the summer working at the outdoor drama,
Texas Legacies, in Canyon, TX. He played various roles which
included acting, singing, and dancing. In his spare time, Cody was
the musical director for an adaptation of A Midsummer Night's
Dream. Cody got hired at the annual Outdoor Drama Auditions last
Spring in Chapel Hill, NC. |
